“For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the alter to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” Leviticus 17:11
In the natural we see that the absence of blood is death. But not only the absence but also the existence of bad blood or ineffective blood is also death. Blood is the life of the flesh. As we read the scripture we see that the natural always manifests itself in the spirit because we are spiritual beings. Our heart, is the place that keeps us connected to both the spiritual and the natural. It is the place of conversion from spiritual into natural and from natural into spiritual that deals with the issues of life in our present existence. Our soul, is our sealed spirit that lives on after death. It is the part of our inner being that silently captures how we spent our lives and lives on after death. When a plane crashes or is destroyed there is a black box that survives containing all the pertinent information regarding the life of the plane and all the details surrounding the last moments of its life. That black box is a picture of our soul.
In the scripture the Lord said that he has given us the blood of life upon the alter to make an atonement for our souls. Here in the old testament he is actually foretelling the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who is not only interchangeable with Grace but also with life and blood. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” Ephesians 1:7. When Christ died on the cross he paid the ultimate sacrifice, price and one-time eternal covering for our sins. His blood that ran on the cross (the alter) was the manifestation of the spirit of life or the life of the spirit. It is through his blood/life that we accept as our own in exchange for our sin that is the life’s blood of our souls to be freed and exist eternally after death.
“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Romans 8:9-10. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2.
Be Blessed.
