Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

Honestly, I had a love for reading just for fun. It was my favorite pastime. I grew up from a toddler stuck to books, but I never really retained the content of what I read [which explains why i could read certain popular childrens books to my children with no recollection that I’d read it before in my own childhood]. I think subconsciously, I really retained an understanding of words, sentence structure, and gleaned a lot from authors, especially expressive ones. I was intrigued with thoughts of who they could possibly be as a person, rather than the content of their works. I wondered ‘were they really romantic, scary, deranged, or just a cool funny person’. I read to drift away to new worlds, fully immersed in my visually pictorial mind.

Over time, I gradually drifted away from my love of reading; boggled down with hectic schedules, daily routines and obligations, and a weird drive to always do (more than just be). Oddly enough, maybe even ironically enough. I became what I loved from a child. I began to write in the most interesting, descriptive, and expressive way (and it really intrigues me every day). Is it fair to say that I also think about who I am as a person? I find myself wondering if I’m a hopeless romantic, or an out of touch gal, a funny and joyful soul, or a workaholic with no play time, a realist or an idealist, and so much more. I’ve basically added myself to the tons of authors fully immersed in life, people, matters of the heart and mind, and how it contends with our spirit man. Now, reading is fundamental to me for research, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and insight.

But I’m working my way back to reading just for fun.
