“But in your hearts set Christ apart [as holy—acknowledging Him, giving Him first place in your lives] as Lord. Always be ready to give a [logical] defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15 AMP
Do you have an answer when people ask you questions like… Why do you believe in God or Why do you worship a God you can’t see? Or even how old is God and where does he reside?
For one, this world is so purposeful, everything is not just created but designed to function either with purpose or for purpose. And to have creation and design must have a masterful mind who not only thought of it but has the power to bring it into existence. I call him God, and so do many other people. He is the great I Am, the Alpha and the Omega.
To worship is to show deep respect for a supernatural divine being or basically a force that you’ve discovered is beyond our understanding or the laws of nature.
Speaking of laws of nature. That really speaks of time. God is timeless. He has no age. When you think about it, age is a product of time. It measures how long or how short time is for something or someone that is managed or governed within other elements that can be measured by that same time. So we age because of time that measures changes that has a starting point (conception) and an ending point (death). We live in an element (earth) that also ages because of time. And that time measures changes that can be traced back to a starting point, but also has a knowledgeable reference of a presumed end. Such end can be due to rapid changes not only due to the advances of the growth and maturity of this earth but also because it understandably suffers visible wear and tear and much loss and devastating destruction of much cause and effect as well as unconscious reactions.
The earth ages because it is governed under a major clock, the sun and the moon. The sun can be considered as the long hand that operates as a minute hand and the moon as the short hand that operates the hour hand. The greater light (sun) governs minute by minute, symbolizing moment by moment where growth and maturity rises like the dawn and sets like the dusk, and the lesser light (moon) governs the transition of every hour, symbolizing the transition from every night into the day.
When Jesus (God in the flesh) walked this earth, he experienced aging just like we do, but being transitioned outside this dispensation of time (into the dimension of the heavenly realms), time is no longer relevant because there are no changes to measure. Malachi 3:6 says “For I am the LORD, I change not;” Hebrew 13:8 ESV says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Be blessed,
G.M.
