Do you ever feel like when you pray you don’t know where to begin or sometimes what to say? It’s not that we don’t have things to talk about. Sometimes, we just seem reluctant to present it to God. I’m sure many things that circle through our thoughts and even our conversations with others are things that can easily fit into categories like being petty, selfish, ungrateful, asking too much, asking too little, unworthy, overzealous, lackadaisical, undervalued, unseen, doubtful, prideful, ignorant, naive, and so much more.

So we tend to pick and choose what we talk to God about; As if we’re bringing the Lord a plate of presented cooked food (whether well presented or seemingly unappetizing), based on the heaping or sparing spoonfuls of what we choose to put on his plate.

God doesn’t just consider us as his children but also as his friends. Therefore, he doesn’t want to wait to be served with what we hand-pick and portion out for him. He wants to go straight to the pot. Psalm 23:5 says that He prepares a table before us. Not the other way around. He honors us with anointing that overflows our capacity when he has full access to the whole pot. That is amazing favor.

Prayer: Lord, I invite you to my pot. Every dish on my stove is open for you to come straight to it. Tell me what ingredients I’m missing and how I can make it better. Tell me what I’m doing wrong. Tell me what you love about me so that I don’t have to seek it from all the wrong people. Tell me how interested you are in my unique technique and creativity, as well as my technical and distinct difficulties. I trust you, Lord. You know me so well. And you know just how to present, not just every dish, but a whole table of life before me; In every season, through every storm, on every mountain top, in every valley, through every field, and in even in every hiding place. You meet me where I am based on my measure of faith and sense of awareness, and according to my degree of wisdom, understanding, and relationship with you. Thank you for caring so much about me and for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
