Commit, trust, and it will come

Commit thy way unto the Lord ; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Psalms 37:5 KJV

Lord, continue to teach me your way. There is nothing i can do without you and there is nothing too hard for you. Forgive me when i doubt and when I’m discouraged, with a father like you I should be the complete opposite at all times because I know that it all belongs to you. Guide me oh Lord as i seek you. I put my trust in you for you will never fail me. Even when I’m turned down or turned away it all works together with your plan for me. Your word says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.” Jeremiah 29:11‭-‬12 KJV. Lord You are my hope and my help.

In Jesus Name Amen

The Pigs Perspective

“The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.” He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.”
Matthew 8:31‭-‬32 NIV

Have you ever been in the position where, like the pigs, you were minding your own business consumed in the daily cares of life and all of a sudden your mind and spirit were attacked by the enemy causing you so much tribulation that you felt like you were heading straight for a cliff?

Believe it or not, demons have to ask God’s permission to take hold of you because they don’t have the authority to do so on their own. So if God allowed it, what is the real issue?

The bible says ““Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
Luke 21:34‭-‬36 NIV

The bible says…

“Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding.”
Matthew 8:30 NIV

Large herd means distraction. How can we be on watch if we surround ourselves in the constant company of life’s distractions. On top of that how can we be able to escape when we are feeding (our head is down) in the midst of distraction.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 KJV. “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.” Colossians 2:6‭-‬8 NIV

My prayer: Lord help me to not be so caught up in the issues of life that I myself become also as one of the issues, feeding on the same things that consumes my attention. Help me to not loose sight on you and not to be consumed in the common desires of this world that I’m caught offguard and unprepared to acknowledge the way that you have laid for me to escape in times of trouble. Help me to desire a closer relationship and walk with you. Help me to “…lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord…” Psalms 121:1-2 KJV

Amen

Forgiveness is the key to Restoration

Restore means to bring back, repair, or clean.

The bible says “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Eph 4:32 NIV

Like water is to a kettle, Forgiveness is to acknowledgement.

We cannot receive forgivenesss without being in acknowledgement of where we went wrong. Like the water, it cannot be boiled and the impurities removed if we do not put it in a kettle and put it on the fire. It is so with forgiveness. We must bring our wrong in a pot of acknowledgement and take it to the alter of fire so that our sin will be removed (the act of forgiveness) and the purity we receive in exchange for our sin is restoration.

My prayer: Lord your word says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9 NIV. Lord help me to walk in accordance and obedience to your word and acknowledge my wrongs so that you can restore me whenever I fall. “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23‭-‬24 NIV.
I am not perfect but my Lord is a Perfector and a Restorer “… He hath done all things well..” Mark 7:37 KJV

Amen

Experience Faith

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

Because we don’t see it yet doesn’t mean that we are walking blindly.

Someone who is blind has increased sensibilities in other areas. For example, they may have a heightened sense of hearing or touch or smell. When we can’t connect in one area, there has to be another heightened sense of awareness that connects us to what we can’t see.

There are so many things that we don’t see but are sure of. Let’s take for instance the wind, pain, and hunger. We can’t see them but we can feel them. The thing about these things is that you must first feel (experience) them in order to then believe (faith) that they are present and understand the nature of them.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 NIV

With God it is the opposite. We must first believe (faith) that he exists in order to have the opportunity to then feel (experience) his presence as we seek him and come to know him.

The bible says “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matt 21:22 NIV

Some may wonder, why it is that those who work evil have such power?  Simple.  They believe.  It is amazing the power we give to the enemy; and to our God, we believe in him but we doubt our abilities.  Jesus said, “…If you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do…but also you can say…and it will be done.” Matt 21:21 NIV  “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father” John 14:12 NIV  “Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.” John 14:10

Who is living in us?  Is it not the father through his son Jesus through the Holy Spirit? “…The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” John 14:17 NIV

Because he lives in us we can do amazing things, we can speak things into existence.

My Prayer:  Lord, help me to realize the power within me that I have through you.  Help me to not take it lightly but believe in you that “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13 KJV.

Amen

Don’t fall back, move beyond.

Have you ever left something somewhere and you didn’t realize it till you left the place? Not just anything, but something that was special to you.

I remember going to a restaurant one day while on vacation far away from home. I had a great time, and when I left the restaurant, halfway to back to the hotel I realized that I didn’t have my glasses. I was sure I had taken it off while in the restaurant, so I called to ask if they had seen it. Luckily they answered the phone as it was closing time. To my hope, they said they did and that they had it. Feeling relieved and happy, I got to the restaurant and eagerly waited for them to open the door for me. They went and got my glasses and brought it to me, and when I saw it, my heart sunk; it wasn’t mine. They let me search the area where I sat, while they were cleaning up, and nothing. My glasses was no where to be found. I was devastated. I used it for everything. It was the one thing that clarified my vision afar and without it my distance was blurry. Then I thought about the process I would have to go through to get another. I would have to go back to the optometrist to get an eye exam and then order a new pair of glasses that has to again be cut and bent and brought through the process and framed with a focus just for me which would take about 3 days until ready.

When I think of this moment and similar ones like these, I think of how it may make God feel, when he held us so close and then suddenly just loses us to the world. Depending on how far we go away from him, the distance is so great that some of us never find our way back to him; and others who do… the bible tells us “It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance (a change of heart and mind). To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.” Hebrews 6:4-6 NIV Wow… that’s certainly hard to swallow.

The bible says, “Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance…that lead to death…” Hebrews 6:6 NIV

My Prayer: Lord teach me how to be mature in you. At some point, the wonders which enticed me about you and led me to you needs to be left for the new hearts that come to you. I must move beyond, and into the richness of your Word and the fullness of your Grace. I was taught to put off my old self and be made new in the attitude of my mind (Eph 4:22). Lord help me to walk by the spirit, live by the spirit and be led by the spirit (Gal 5:16-18) through the fruits of the spirit, love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Gal 5:22-23 NIV). In Jesus name, Amen.

Alone time

“God understands the way to it and he alone knows where it dwells,…” Job 28:23 NIV.

If God alone knows, then we ought to seek him alone. Building a relationship with God calls for one-on-one time. It cannot be sought and acquired in the midst of distraction. If we make alone time to focus and talk with God alone, then he will show us the way.

My Prayer: Lord, help me to seek you alone. For your word says when I seek you with all my heart, I will find you (Jeremiah 29:13). I understand that being alone doesn’t just mean being physically alone when I seek you, but being alone also means clearing my heart of all my desires and filling it with you alone. That is what you mean by seeking you with all my heart. I understand that I can’t find you with only a portion of my heart and if I try to do so, I can be easily deceived by what may appear to be you. I acknowledge that it is you that understands the way and it is you and only you that know the way. If I seek anyone other than you to show me the way, I will truly be lost. I come to you right now asking for understanding and direction In Jesus Name Amen.

Seek = Hope+Wait+Trust+Faith

According to Merriam-Webster.com, Wait means “to stay in place in expectation“. Hope means “to desire with expectation of obtainment or fulfillment; to expect with confidence“. Trust means “assured

reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something; one in which confidence is placed; dependence on something future… : hope”

The bible says:

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;
Lamentations 3:25 NIV (This means to HAVE expectation as you seek him)

The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
Lamentations 3:25 KJV (This means to STAY in expectation as you seek him)

We cannot seek the Lord without having and staying (hoping and waiting) in expectation of him. And in order to maintain that expectation we must rely on who God is and depend on his promise (trust).

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

God’s plans for us are not the same as the plans we have for ourselves. Our plans are not always seen through, they seldom bring prosperity and they don’t always end well; in fact half the times those plans are either filled with overconfidence or much uncertainty.

But, God’s plans are Promises. And Promises of God are always come to pass because they are guaranteed. “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV
That’s why we say Amen, because we are acknowledging and accepting the Promise of God that what he said he will do, he has already done it. Why is it already done? Because he is the beginning and the end. The bible says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
“An expected end”. God does not have to guess about our future. It is already done, we just haven’t lived through it yet. How great it is to have a father who can direct us confidently because he already knows our future. How confident we must be to know that we have promises in store for us and all we have to do is walk in

him and we will automatically walk into it.

Now Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see”. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:1‭, ‬6 NIV

So to SEEK God we must have (Hope) expectation. We must stay (Wait) in that expectation. We must Trust in who God is and we must have Faith in that we do not see.

Be Blessed.
